Technology for Dynamic FPS Video Delivery
HLS.ai โ 12 MB
Traditional HLS โ 98 MB
Traditional HLS and DASH protocols stream the entire video frame at a fixed frame rate (FPS). Even when only a portion of the screen changes, the whole frame is updated, causing bandwidth waste and latency issues.
HLS.ai introduces a breakthrough: dividing each frame into multiple regions (10, 100, or more). Each region is dynamically assigned its own frame rate depending on motion. High-motion areas use higher FPS, static areas use lower FPS. This reduces bandwidth, lowers latency, and maintains quality.
Dynamic FPS streaming benefits platforms where video delivery scale drives massive costs. By reducing redundant data transmission, it enables lower bandwidth bills and better viewer experience.
This technology is the subject of a U.S. Provisional Patent Application (No. 63/873,348), titled โMethod and System for Dynamic Frame Rate Streaming by Spatial Segmentation of Video Frames.โ
